Legendary California viticulturalist, David Abreu, produces exceptional single-vineyard wines in tiny quantities. The 1993 Madrona Ranch is almost entirely Cabernet Sauvignon with a small amount of Cabernet Franc. Now in its peak drinking window this is an expansive and densely fruited wine with many layers of delicious savoury complexity.
Producer Information
David Abreu established his eponymous winery in the 1980s, purchasing the Madrona Ranch and converting it into a mix of farmland and vineyards. The Thorevilos and Capella vineyards were added a few years later and Las Posadas, a Howell Mountain vineyard, was added to the estate’s holdings in the year 2000. The result is something quite unique in Napa – a collection of distinct sites all producing world class, terroir-driven Cabernet Sauvignon.
