Entirely aged in the tropical climate before bottling, including a portion in rum barrels, this is a splendid opportunity to explore the effects of ageing malt whisky in a different climate.

Aikan French Malt Collection Batch N°2 | 500ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Sugared citrus peels and runny, floral honey lead, with soft stone fruits leading to more tropical notes of mango, charred pineapple, and robust barley.

Palate: Rich cocoa notes join on the palate, alongside silky vanilla and warm, spiced caramel. There are more of those tropical notes, with pineapple turnover and a sprinkling of nutmeg.

Finish: Drying oak wraps things up, with biscuity malt, a dusting of cinnamon, candied, chocolate-dipped orange wheels, and hearty fruit sweetness.

Aikan means “marriage” in Arawak, the language of the first inhabitants of Martinique. Aikan is a desire to bring together two continents (Europe and America), two climates (continental and tropical), two spirits universes (whisky and rum).
A pioneer in the ageing of whiskies in a tropical climate with rum barrels since 2016, Aikan offers unique whiskies with a smooth and gourmet profile. This will appeal to both whisky and rum lovers!
