Distillery Information
Armorik is a whisky distillery based in the town of Lannion, on the north coast of Brittany, midway between Dinan and Brest, on the northwest coast of France. The distillery (known as Distillerie Warenghem for products not under the Armorik banner) is family-owned and has has been distilling in Lannion since 1900, when the Warenghem family established a facility to produce plant liqueurs. In the mid 1960s, Paul-Henri Warenghem, in conjunction with business partner Yves Leizour, moved the facility to the outskirts of town, placing it near the Rest Avel spring. Twenty years later, in 1987, Leizour’s son Gilles oversees the production of the first French (and Breton) whisky: WB Whisky, a blend of 25 percent malt and 75 percent grain.
