Cadenhead Chairman’s Stock Craigellachie-Glenlivet Aged 16 Years 53.8% Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml

Deliciously vibrant and fruity, this 16 year old whisky from Craigellachie, re-racked into a Sauternes cask in 2020, displays notes of papaya, guava, tinned peaches in syrup and juicy mango to name a few.

Craigellachie-Glenlivet Information

The distillery is located in the village of Craigellachie (meaning “rocky hill”) at the centre of the Speyside region.

Craigellachie is proud of its sulphurous character. Some say that the first thing you smell as you enter the distillery is the notes of cabbage and beef stock. They also add weight to the palate of the mature spirit.

The long fermentation period has fixed fruitiness within the spirit and this tropical/floral note emerges in the mature spirit – full, yet aromatic and this has made Craigellachie a prized malt for blending.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Papaya, guava, dried apricots.

Flavour:

Caramel, vanilla beans, tinned peaches in syrup.

Finish:

Mango, honeycomb, golden syrup.
