Cadenhead Chairman’s Stock Glen Garioch 12year 56.6% Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml

This Highland dram from Glen Garioch distillery spent the last 4 years of maturation in an Amontillado cask. This time spent maturing has instilled notes of dark chocolate, brandy beans, tangerines and date & walnut cake.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Dark chocolate, orange essence, dates, prunes, brandy beans.

Flavour:

Pecans, tangerines, hazelnuts.

Finish:

Raisins, nougat, date & walnut cake, caramel.

Glen Garioch Information

Pronounced “Glen Geery” locally, this is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, dating all the way back to 1797. Sitting in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, the exterior demonstrates the historical weight the distillery holds and the buildings are a good example of a centuries-old site. There are small rooms that have clearly been added on and converted into use as production increased but the facilities they hold are modern.

The spirit produced is thick and fruity, with a strong texture and consistent sweetness.
