Who makes great collaborators when making whiskey? Heavy metal bands, that’s who. That’s why Catoctin Creek enlisted GWAR to help create Ragnorok Rye to make a new “intergalactic sipping whiskey”. The intention was to create a big, bold whiskey with some of that metal spirit infused in every drop, which from a technical standpoint meant bottling it at 46% ABV after it was matured in charred new white oak, then sugar maple and cherrywood.
