Marcati Amaro is a classic Italian herbal liqueur with a bitter-sweet flavor based on a family formula from the 19th century. It is made by maceration of botanicals, including angelica, liquorice, cardamom, thyme, sage, lemon peel and elderberry. In the final phase, sugar syrup is added. Due to its digestive qualities, Amaro should be served after a heavy meal as the so-called “digestive” either in its natural form, or with an ice cube and a piece of lemon, or with tonic water.
