Old Grand-Dad 7-Year Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon is the next chapter in a storied American whiskey legacy. With experience honed over time and inspired by generational distilling practices, Colonel R.B. Hayden, grandson of Basil Hayden honored this family legacy by naming his whiskey and his distillery “Old Grand-Dad” in 1882 creating a bold, spicy bourbon that has stood the test of time. In 2025, James B. Beam Distilling Co. proudly introduces the first annual release of Old Grand-Dad 7-Year Bonded Bourbon. This high-rye Kentucky Straight Bourbon is produced from a single distillation season and bottled at 100 proof, in accordance with the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. The inaugural release, barreled in Spring 2018, is patiently aged to deepen the signature OGD flavor–sweet caramel layered with charred oak, vanilla, and a full-bodied, velvety finish. A nod to its vintage roots, the 7-Year Bottled-in-Bond expression celebrates the legacy of a bourbon that survived Prohibition, became a giant of the industry, and beloved by bartenders and bourbon aficionados alike. This annual release brings together history, heritage, and craftmanship–delivering a spicier, richer take on the classic Old Grand-Dad profile that continues to define a timeless American spirit.
