Auslese is a selection of very ripe fruit harvested late in the season. The longer hang time produces more fully developed aromas and flavors, and greater complexity.
The 2015 Maximin Grünhäuser Herrenberg Auslese 31 opens with a clear and elegant, very attractive passion fruit and grapefruit aroma. Sweet and piquant on the palate, this is a round, lush, finessed and very elegant Auslese with a long, aromatic finish and stimulating piquant acidity. A gorgeous Auslese of great finesse. It has 7% alcohol and roughly 125 grams of residual sugar.
