Brilliant gold in color, this wine boasts classic aromas of golden delicious apple and hints of peach. A soft and creamy palate of toasted oak, Asian pear and baked apple leads to lingering notes of sponge cake and toasted almond on the finish.
Precept Wine’s team in Walla Walla worked on this bargain Chardonnay that includes significant contributions from Rhône varieties Viognier (7%) and Roussanne (6%) and spent six months influenced by a blend of American and French oak. Those oak tones settle well behind aromas of dusty pear, starfruit and dried pineapple that include a touch of butterscotch and ghee. It’s quite vibrant in the mouth with ripe Bosc pear and Golden Delicious apple flavors. Great citrusy acidity still allows for just a touch of that oak to peek out in the long finish.
