Description
Pommard Les Vignots is a lieu-dit that sits on the upper slope of the combe behind the village of Pommard. This south-facing climat gives wines with typical Pommard power while its elevation of over 300 meters lends high-toned aromas and finesse.
The average vine age is 50 years old. 10% whole clusters are used and the wine is aged in 30% new oak.The 2016 Pommard 1er Cru les Vignots, which was not touched by frost, has a lifted bouquet with vibrant red berry fruit laced with blueberry and a touch of inkwell. I like the focus and purity here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, fine tannin, crisp acidity and a harmonious, silky finish that does this vineyard proud. This comes recommended.
